East All-Stars has its coach

It is said that Stan Van Gundy will step in the East in the ALL-STAR game as a coach after the Orlando Magic led Atlanta for the second-best record in the conference through January.

The Magic improved to 32-16 with their 91-86 victory at Detroit on Sunday. Atlanta was idle Sunday and finished January with a 30-16 mark (.652). Cleveland has the best record in the East, but Cavaliers coach Mike Brown is ineligible after coaching in last year’s All-Star game. Van Gundy will coach his second All-Star game on Feb. 14 at Cowboys Stadium, having led the East to a 10-point win in 2005 when he was Miami’s coach.

I like magic jerseys.
